February Update

Sorry for the lack of updates.

February was a good month, we had the sound out at Lost Minds and SCREAM outdoors (before the rain :( )

It always sounds amazing.

Next shows are Xplicit Content on 3/12 and Visual Vibrations III on April 3rd.

Those are the solid bookings, but check back for more.

Thank you 8:39, and thanks to everybody that came out and donated.

V.S. SounD was up and ready to rock at 12:00am. People started filtering in after 2am and the place was packed.

Lots of smiling, generous people. Over 1500 was donated which will be matched at least 2 ways by others.

Made some believers in Funktion-One, glad to see so many people appreciating quality sound.

Happy to be altruistic. See you @ Lost Minds, 2/12.

So, all in all it was a great experience. Zach and Sid from Green Addict and my friend Steve handled everything professionally. After scouting the venue for my area and the power I would need on Wednesday night; I showed up with the gear at 11am on Thursday. Setup and sound check took roughly two hours. I ended up hosting the House Room. I hate to toot my own horn, but I had the best sounding system in the place, it was nearly as loud as the main room that had 12 JBL cabinets. Funktion-One is serious stuff. It was the first time for lots of people hearing or playing on these marvelous speakers. Due to some issues with the venue, they ended up shutting down a tad early, but some diehards, myself included, kept turning our system back on regardless of what hotel security had to say. Eventually they got us, and the last DJ got his fill so we shutdown and broke the system down for the next day.

Friday morning, Steve helped me wheel all the gear down by the pool and we set up for a 6 hour pool party. It was great to get to set the system up to hear how it sounds outside as well, plus setup and breakdown practice never hurts.

At 3:30, the hotel was already getting on us to bring the system levels down, and by 5pm the last DJ got his fill and we broke the system down again and loaded up the truck.

F1 was the talk of the party, seriously legit sound, I am constantly in awe of what they can do. This is only with 4 cabinets. So, get those bookings in.

Final shipment came in today. Controller is configured, Amplifiers have had a power-on test.

System goes live at ~5pm tonight.

Just got work from Sound Investments. XTA Controllers and MC^2 Amps come in on Monday 12/14, the Motionlabs PDU and fanouts come in on Tuesday 12/15, and the Funktion-One should be in on 12/21.

~edit~ Funktion-One is delayed in LA due to high shipping volume for Christmas, ETA is now 12/23 or 12/24 :-\

So, I'm hoping the shipment has cleared customs. If so, it should all be on its way via train to my house. Haha, 1500 pounds+ of gear arriving by truck, cool.
